Flair: AI-Powered Shared Gallery and Video Generator
UX/UI, Product Design, Prototyping, Market Research
the BRIEF
A graduate school assignment asked that I create a 3-5 minute video with full creative freedom on the subject. My brainstorming lead me to a bigger idea – what if there was a platform that leveraged AI to create high-quality videos for me? Instead of spending hours selecting, cutting, and editing footage, it could all be done for you just by clicking a few buttons.

the INSPIRATION
In the fall of 2022, I got married and it was one of the happiest, most exhilarating (and tiring) days of my life. The day had flown by so quickly that the following day my new husband and I were wishing we could relive some moments through photos or videos – but neither of us had our phones on us that day. We were left with a handful of videos friends had shared on social media and some blurry, zoomed-in close-ups of our faces from older relatives. We had hired a professional photographer as well, but it would be weeks before we got to see those photos.
In the days that followed, more photos and videos were shared with us via text or even shared albums on iCloud. My mom and her friends, having had experience with their children’s weddings, all shared dozens of photos and videos in their group text (which were only shared with me many months later when I was telling my mom about this app idea). There had to be a better way to collect memories captured by guests.
How might we collect photos and videos from guests who attend events?
Even if there was a better way to collect photos and videos from guests, what could be done with them? Sure, almost everyone today has a quality camera in their pocket, but that doesn’t mean they’re all professional photographers. Shaky videos, blurry photos, and less-than-perfect lighting and coloring all take away from the captured memory. Collected media would need to be improved or enhanced.
How might we improve the quality of imperfect photos/videos?
What is the average user supposed to do with this new library of memories? Don’t get me wrong, I spend all day staring at my wedding photos. And sometimes I have. I love seeing all the moments my friends and family captured that the photographer wasn’t there for, and seeing the same moments from different perspectives. But what can I do with them? I’m fortunate to have video editing experience, but not everyone does. Even then, between work and classes and life, I still haven’t had the chance to create my own video. Seeing the recent explosion of technology and artificial intelligence capabilities, I thought there has to be a way to use AI to make this easier. And so, the concept of FLAIR was born out of my own experiences and hopes (and regrets) to capture memories in a new way.
How might we use collected photos/videos from events?
How might we leverage technology to easily create videos at the click of a button?

the OUTCOME
Create videos with Flair – an AI-powered shared gallery and video-generating app. Collect photos and videos from guests at events using a QR code or shareable link. Guests can then add their photos without needing to download the app. Flair’s intuitive AI will automatically sort the uploaded media into appropriate categories based on your event and remove any duplicates. It even allows you to enhance media at the push of a button, removing video shake or unsteadiness, sharpening blurry photos, and correcting color.
Once the photos and videos are collected, users can create a video in the style of their choosing with just a few taps. The AI-powered video editor will do all the hard work, and the end result will be a video perfect for sharing on social media and cherishing memories for years to come. More than just a slideshow of images, Flair’s AI understands the content of the photos and videos to create a cohesive story in video form, with music to match.
the PROCESS
MARKET VALIDATION
Before I began working, I conducted research to gain a better understanding of the current market and the needs of the potential audience. I wanted the app to be useful for all types of events, but I decided to focus my research on weddings specifically since it is a $58 Billion dollar industry on its own.

USER INTERVIEWS
I conducted interviews with 4 users who were recently married or had large events to gain initial insights about how they gathered photos and videos afterwards, and how the process could have been improved.
